# Edgecase: Maximum Loan Size Exceeded

  This occurs when the requested loan amount exceeds the policy threshold by more than 5%.

## Platform Action

Auto-escalation triggered if loan exceeds \$3.5M (metro) or \$2.5M (regional) by more than 5%.

* Review request and rationale
* Contact borrower for confirmation if needed
* Appropriately authorised DLA holder may approve above max after review

## Example Situation

An applicant applies for a \$3.7M loan in metro Sydney. The system detects it's above the \$3.5M limit by more than 5% and escalates to credit ops for DLA review.
